The S&P Merval index rose 0.1% on the first day of April, reaching 2,999,341.73 points. At the same time, measured in dollars, it fell 1% to 2,013.67 points, according to the Argentine News Agency. The shares of the leading panel traded with mixed performance. Among the gains, Aluar (+5.9%), Sociedad Comercial del Plata (+3.6%), and Ternium (+3.6%) stood out, while the losses were led by Metrogas (-3.8%), YPF (-3%), and Transportadora de Gas del Norte (-2%). In New York, ADRs also did not show a clear trend.
S&P Merval Slightly Up in Early April
Argentina's stock market showed mixed performance on the first day of April. While the main S&P Merval index in local currency rose, it fell in dollar terms. Shares of aluminum and steel companies showed significant gains, while energy companies, including YPF, posted losses.
